The brass Sundial Compass has a long history.  Imagine going on the adventures of world discovery to far off lands.  Step back in time to the early 17th century aboard the Spanish Galleons.  The wealthy could have such a treasure, or the navigator may have used this instrument.  Time, Direction, and Location are important facts on the high seas.

In 1622, a fleet of ships started out from the Caribbean with a destination of their homeland, Spain.  The Senora de la Atocha and the Senora de la Santa Margarita were the two galleons guarding and leading the rest of the fleet.  Unbeknown to the crew, there was a storm of great magnitude brewing.  The hurricane overtook the Spanish flotilla bringing destruction and death to all but five of those on board.

Three hundred years later, after 17 years of searching, Mel Fisher discovered the sunken vessels that had been loaded with glimmering treasures of gold, silver, emeralds, and artifacts of that moment in time off the coast of Key West, Florida.  Among the personal treasures of those on board was a brass sundial compass very similar to this reproduction.  The brass sundial compass withstood the test of time and...its beauty has been recreated so that you may have your very own brass Sundial Compass.
