The Story of Cherry Valley

Part One - The Present

Will you join me today as we Tour Through Time?  We'll start in the 21st century Cherry Valley, New York. It is a quiet rural community nestled in the hills of  Mohawk Valley in
central New York. We are  fifty miles  west of  Albany,  and a short  drive  from Cooperstown, New York. I live on a farm just east of the village, secluded, but not isolated. The view is extremely beautiful.  There is a spot two miles from here where I can overlook Mohawk Valley farmland and see 75 miles to the distant mountain ranges.  It takes my breath away.  One early morning, I could see the 'cloud' sitting on the Mohawk River as it wound through the countryside.  I tell you, whether it's a spring, summer, fall or winter day, you cannot find anything more beautiful than Cherry Valley, New York.

Cherry Valley has many talented artists, musicians, poets, writers, woodworkers, creative folks of every trade, hardworking people, people with ideals, and trust and faith in their creator, Almighty God.  For more than 25 years, Cherry Valley has had a Christian radio station in the hills 102FM - WJIV on your dial.

Many come during the summer tourists season, and year round vacation times to enjoy the serenity of this land.  We welcome them, even as we did during our 'prosperity years' 1790-1815.  We have several lovely bed and breakfast establishments and restaurants for a fine dining experience.  I love to go up to the Pleasantview Breakfast House whenever I can get away from my chores.
